I don't find any of these changes offensive at all. Actually, it's sort of offensive that Jezebel was so convinced Lena couldn't actually look that good without heavy photoshopping.
I love when people declare that someone is using a word wrong and then say they don't want to argue about semantics.
So, you're moving the goalposts.
Lena Dunham and her fans, ourselves included, love her just the way she is. Vogue's opinion, of course, is another matter.
Adults can't be bullied? Maybe you should stop misunderstanding what words mean. Example: is a 40 year old woman who is in an abusive relationship being bullied? A sane person would say yes, unequivocally.
I bet you guys were hoping for something much more dramatic.
Well, would you look at that. A woman featured in a fashion magazine was lightly photoshopped and, as a result, looks slightly better than she did in the original photos. Someone notify the Pultizer committee. This is some ground-breaking journalism. It must be shared with the world!
Also: you forgot to mention:
Bathroom pic: Towel Lengthened
WOW GUYS YOU REALLY GOT THE SCOOP ON THAT ONE
I sincerely hope you didn't actually pay someone money for these. Holy anti-climatic. Look-wise, is one of the least photo shopped shoots I've seen which pretty much means you guys were betting on a woman's body looking terrible for money. Way to go.
Fuck you, Jezebel. You're cyber-bullying Lena Dunham but pretending to be doing women everywhere a favour. Congratulations on becoming a faux-feminist Tea Party.
The show has no focus. Here's what I posted over at TWoP:
Mulligatawny soup!
