Toyota did make a pretty good looking coke dealers car in the 80’s. I’ve got one (no implications... just coincidence)

It can come in bursts, too. Ever seen that idiot flashing his brights at an infrared sensing stoplight, you know, to pretend he’s an emergency vehicle? Brief moments of caps lock, comes out looking like a teenage girl on MySpace 12 years ago.

“I’m a FUCKing reTARD, mayBE I’m not FLASHING fast ENOUgh”

Then the shit

Can’t help but wonder if this is a result of you once owning a MKIII Supra. $30k in 1989 meant a sweet turbo GT car, but with a flimsy flip-down holder inside the center console. Requirements include sacrificing your armrest just to get to it. One wrong shift and your elbow will send your drink into oblivion.

Then

Agreed, the complaints don’t sound like they came from the smartest of car buyers. I work for an MBZ dealership - CLA buyers are often 1. making the largest purchase they’ve ever made and 2. Don’t understand the implications of buying/leasing an expensive ‘cheap’ car.

The level of entitlement exhibited by entry level

Maybe if you’re referring to the 3.0 V6 model, if not properly cared for. Otherwise, your opinion is a terrible one.

+1 for 4Runner

How in the hell does this Thunderbird abortion earn the name “beautiful?” I’ll be damned if its considered more beautiful than a proper long wheelbase 2 door - take the W126 MBZ 560SEC coupe for example. Roll those windows down for pillarless beauty!

Funny that you mention that! I’ve been wanting a pickup for some time now... so in a way, we are opposites. You should get a 4Runner, there isn’t much like it!

I love reading posts like this one. In April, I bought a 94 Twin Turbo Supra (auto... for now) for $2500, sold the wheels and body kit, and have been putting it back to the stock car it should be.

Currently $5,000 total into it (including purchase, all parts, and insurance... not gas)

For 19,800 AKA starting bid... I

agreed... The MKIII is usually too overshadowed by its successor. The depreciation has definitely bottomed out on these. Examples anywhere from a few hundred to immaculate.

The z31 is a beauty, but can be a nightmare to keep functional. My buddy owns an 84 in great shape, but even after a full engine, suspension, and A/C system rebuild, he’s still listening to groaning transmission bearings and dealing with a faulty brake booster.

Just curious... why not choose the 3000GT VR-4 instead? Price?

The almighty W126! Anything with the 300 turbo diesel should be around for many generations to come. Wish I could say the same for the 5.6, hopefully someone has deep enough pockets to keep those running.

I've got to be a super lucky guy because I have bought both a MKIII and MKIV in the last year for well below what the prices are on my local Craigslist. Now I know to hang onto them and maybe they'll be worth a pretty penny.

I dont want to be forever grayed..

Wow. 13,700 bid so far, for a WRECKED supra. Incredible. I’ve spent about 1/3rd of that for my 94 Turbo so far. After paint and tires, I’ll still be leagues ahead (I bought it for $2500, 63k documented miles). Then it’ll be a simple V160 swap away, and still be cheaper!

My good friend John has a beige 85 solid axle pickup. He swapped a 22RTE and r151 5 speed manual. Aluminum 28 gallon fuel tank. It is quite the unicorn... best photo I have here. Red 87 turbo 4Runner is mine, rebuilt 22RTE, 261 cam, ct26 supra turbo. Picked it up from a junkyard and restored it.

I want to say it is because the turbo model came with all the high end options. A luxury 4Runner... it had AC, power windows and locks, the automatic transmission was supposed to be a step up above standard equipment. Turbo pickups didn’t come with the digital dash or the automatic transmission. They did receive a

I LOVE the truck, but a turbo 4Runner for 8k is a bit on the wild side... I’d say NP for around 6k. The turbo 4Runners unfortunately ALL come with automatics so that’s a negative on the price in my opinion. This thing’s stocktastic... but holy shit - taking that top off does wonders.

The simpsons already did it.
