Back to the original poster (and including myself), that’s a distinction that’s tough to make as a young teen in the midwest. The fact that we’ve realized the error of our ignorance needs to count for something, as for others who’ve made the same mistake.
Yet it still got greenlit by a major studio and was number #3 at the box office when it came out. Not sure where you’re getting it was a “major flop” from. Panned yes, but most certainly not a flop.
