I found most kickstarter games present were already at the finished stage, so you could pick them up instead of paying for delivery. There were a couple that had hands-on demos, such as Thunderbirds, but the KS was already done for that too. This year there was an extra hall, and at one end there seemed to be an area

With placenames like Sigmaringen and Kempton (races sing this song), what's not to like?

I have to agree that it makes it more exciting, because there are so many unknowns. That's why I think it'll sell well and we'll see more of this sort of thing. I know there's an attempt to do something similar in videogame terms - an MMORPG in which your death means you can never log back in, but that seems much more

Thanks! I don't think any games truly surprised me, I'd maybe done too much reading up in advance, though Bad Medicine hadn't been on my radar to start with. There was one experience however: when I was just walking back from the bathrooms I was complimented on my T-shirt, from the Horror on the Orient Express

I think 4 players isn't as fun, because there's only one person to guess each time, so the spymaster doesn't get to giggle at the ridiculous reasoning you get when people try to explain their ideas to each other. You could possibly modify the rules so that both guessers work together for the two spymasters in turn,

I love these, but still haven't had the chance to try one out, despite there being two now where I live. The trouble is convincing anyone else to go with me. I really enjoyed Race to Escape and hope we get a version over in the UK - all the fun of puzzles without the US production requirement that everyone act like

Do you know, I didn't see any, and Cones of Dunshire was supposed to be there but I never found it. Disappointment.

You can play the original Advanced Civilization online at http://civ.rol-play.com/ahc… but it's very slow going, and people frequently drop out. I hope the boardgame is a success, then they might make a decent client or something. I'd back it!

I agree that they could have made the legacy components reusable, but I don't think I mind that much. I will probably only play through it once, and then you can still play the base game if you don't really destroy things. It's partly a drive for profit of course, but given the cost vs. entertainment time, it's very

Hah, I wonder if the first draft had some other number and they fiddled it until it began with F. He does like F.

Bad Medicine also reminded me of Cheapass Games' The Big Idea, where you make up a pretend product and sell it to the other players. I really like the cards playing multiple roles in the pitch though.

Aww, that's so nice of you to say. If you're ever in Switzerland I'm sure I can offer you a game of something.

Yeah but they can't dual-class.

Alas, it was tested and no :(

I heard they have previously imposed German-like rules on certain games, which has annoyed French Swiss, but I hope it's not true they're doing it again.

It was discovered this week that you can use certain HTML tags in your weapon names, including colours. So have fun with that ;)

I'm slightly perturbed by the recent change on Steam that means they now price in Swiss Francs. Some stuff is cheaper, some is more expensive, and there's no rime or reason to it. I'm hoping it'll get levelled out before winter sales, else I'll have to do all my shopping whilst I'm home in the UK.

I'm getting to the point where I wish I could burn corpses in a great big fire. They're littering my settlements!

One has been discovered, though it's currently not enabled. I think it'll be available when the GECK mod kit comes out next year.

Very informative, I was wondering how to do this having just chosen the perk. I don't want to walk back to Sanctuary to pick up the bits I need for turrets to protect the two farms I've just recruited.
