I was probably playing games from 1993 because the family had a Mac at the time, but checking games that were actually released in 1995, I remember playing Worms a lot with friends - the silly voices and ridiculous weapons were just perfect for a bunch of 11-12 year olds who had recently got into Monty Python. I think

If humanity went extinct and your game was the only remaining cultural artefact, what would the next sapient species learn from it?

Kirk or Picard?

You should have posted your review when drunk :D

Do you mean the bits either side of the vault door? They do look a bit blurry, I wonder if that's an effect though. Everything looks cleaner than Skyrim to me, but I played that on 360.

There's an HD Fallout 4 trailer. Look at that before comparing, because youtube = compression.

This Saturday, my local boardgame club is running a public boardgame day, for the second year running, and this time I'm not at a conference! So I expect to be explaining, demonstrating and playing boardgames for quite a lot of the day - all for the community of course :)

Four score and seven A-bombs ago..

Anyone growing a beard unexpectedly is 'doing a Riker' - and all the ladies love that, bow-chicka..

Yeah I remember that from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. At least in my experience, these organisations that you can create are really just another way to Get More Stuff. What you want to model is the impact someone of your importance has on the real world, and that basically means politics and affiliations.

That's cool. I've often wanted to deputise NPCs to take care of small things for me though. Most RPGs have you going from dirt farmer to godlike being, and I feel that once you reach a certain level of power, say being able to murder guards with a flick of your wrist, it's time you had your own guild, or fan club, or

Well, I took it upon myself to gather owls for the dead owl market, so if someone else beat me to the sale, I'll just have to find another lunatic owl collector who wants my feathery corpses.

With open worlds, I really just want to wander around, explore, and enjoy the scenery. There's always fifteen people per village and several in between that bump into you and tell you about their missing chicken, nearby graverobbing opportunities or ten different owls they need murdering and stuffing for their epic

I don't know really, probably some boardgames. I'm still trying to finish Pillars of Eternity, and I hear there's an exciting new update to Cities: Skylines that features tunnels and European style maps. I'm sure I'll be busy.

Well that's sort of where Pillars of Eternity sprung from - it's clear that much of the groundwork is based on BG1+2.

I can't think of a solid Star Wars boardgame that I've ever played more than a handful of times. At some point in my teenage years I lost the will to play miniatures games that didn't discretize the playing surface, so I really don't understand the appeal of X-Wing. There always comes a point where you argue about

I shall put forward the powerful and most kingly Katamari of Love from the original Katamari Damacy. Not only do the credits offer more excellent advice from the King and another weird cutscene animation, but there's a minigame! Can you collect all the countries in the world? Can you even name and/or find them? Damn

Unless you get an A in your history report.

Oof, I am not a super serious modder, only someone who wanted a programming project for a couple of weekends. I really don't like this change though. I think it endangers the whole idea of putting your time into something you care about. Sure, people care about money, but then there's associated responsibility. There
