They really are the most beautiful athletes.
I feel like...Brandi can be awful but she will always hold the trump card which is the fact he cheated on her while she was pregnant. Vile vile crocodile.
Hey LeAnn his ex wife is probably texting him because they have children together. Means they have to communicate.
I feel like...no matter how awful she can be, he will always be that much worse. He is unrepentant and gross.
I agree. I wasn't implying that people like my grandparents, for instance, in the Bronx, knew what was happening in Ireland, or were complicit in a crime. They had no idea. The Ireland they knew was not a reality, it was a romanticized memory, and the Church they knew still kept it's dirtiest secrets hidden.
The history of the Irish republic is rather grim, save except the tourism industry. The IRA, Church related abuses, poverty...then boom and bust with the Celtic tiger...
I applaud your grandmother. I wonder how many Catholics knew - but turned the other cheek to it.
The first time I was in Ireland, with my grandmother, she insisted on going to mass (of course). She was so sad that the church was mostly empty.
I am often struck by the contrast between the reality of Irish history since independence, and the romanticized version presented by my Irish American family. Frankly, I am sure they knew nothing of laundries and homes like this one in Tuam, but still a bit chilling.
It's hard to speak of Irish culture, history, and politics, without speaking of Catholicism. They are two separate things, yes, but intrinsically linked.
I don't think it's a stupid point. No sense in romanticizing a nation. When asked about America, don't go on about freedom and liberty and whatnot, because it is a legend, a myth of nationality. If someone presented that idea of America to you, it would be absolutely your right, as a thinking person, to contradict…
I am glad you brought Sinead into this, because the American response to her protest was so ignorant, and remains so. Even after the child abuse scandals worldwide - you mention Sinead, people mention the crazy broad who ripped up a picture of the pope.
haaahahaha
I saw 50 First Dates in the theater in high school and my friend bawled. I guess what I'm saying is, you're not alone.
Like, you're having a crappy day, but you can always remind yourself, your nipples are shimmering stars right now!
Glass half full!
because FREEDOM
I had the same reaction. Never ever have I ever seen a street walking dripping in Swarovski crystals.
