Remember: If unions didn’t work, companies wouldn’t fight so hard to stop them!

First off, software engineers in games don’t make 200-300k a year. They’d be lucky to break 80k at mid level especially at Blizzard. As an associate engineer there 5 years ago, I was around 65k, in Irvine, which isn’t much. From what I hear that was high for an associate(still is), moving to Tokyo and out of gaming I

I didn’t have ‘Pinkertons start gunning down American workers’ on my ‘what part of forgotten history will we relive this year?’ card, but I can’t say I’m too surprised.  Fight on workers, last time it got us weekend, hour limits, workplace safety standards and more, if we’re going to repeat the shitty parts of

Now this is some fine art

Exactly. She’s got the clout and money to take on this fight and come out okay regardless of how it goes.

Why exactly did Disney think they could get away with cheating ScarJo?

Business is supposed to be about profit.

With Disney 100% in the wrong here, it’s important that someone who can afford the fight like Johansson fight these contract breaches now before more down the line suffer because Disney would surely keep exploiting contracts like this down the line if left unchallenged.

Contracts are contracts. Unless there’s an act of pandemic clause, you don’t get to unilaterally alter the agreement.

A contract is a contract is a contract; school teacher or A-list actor. She likely took significantly less money up front to collect a % of the gross profits on the back end. Disney’s strat likely fucked her over. Sure, she doesn’t need the money but stuff like this is how other people don’t get screwed over later

But it also sets a precedent for studios to dick about with contracts like this in future. It’s probably better an actress with clout like Scarlet does it now where it’ll actually get attention.

Until campaign finance is fixed, the bribery never ends, and nothing else is truly fixable.

Well you can thank the supreme court for deciding that a giant corporation has the rights of “free speech” of a single person.

I worked for Amazon and the anti-union stuff is real. They touted their open-door policy giving employees a direct line to raise concerns to management. Yes, they give you the freedom to go directly to management with an issue and they have the freedom to ignore the crap out of you since you have no real backing. Also

Yeah, somewhere along the line people forgot that businesses are supposed to exist to serve and progress society and its people. People are not supposed to exist to act as cogs and fuel for the businesses.

Corporations are Anti-Human. We need to be able to break up these corporations that abuse human rights and destroy the lives of their employees. We need to end legal bribery where corporations can give large payoffs to politicians. Fuck corporate America. Unionize.

“A previous team said they heard growling in the lava tubes”

I feel like we’re going to start having underground classrooms and teachers on the run. We’re in a time I NEVER thought I’d see. I’m only 43, and only God and ET know how much time I have left. While I wasn’t ever a wide eyed optimist, while growing up in the 80's & 90's (especially the 90's), I believed we could be

This is SOOOO awesome. I hope every time these shit stains are in public, this is the response. Whistles, bands, screams of “Pedophile!” Awesome!
