Brought to you by the same people who only read half of the 2nd Amendment and the 10% of the Bible that supports their bigotry. They have a long history of this shit.

If your granny was dying of cancer and I ran over her, would anyone believe the cancer killed her? Would anyone believe the cancer contributed to her death because “she wasn’t as robust as most people who might have been able to survive”? No, nobody would believe that.
Oh, this is crap! What was the cop doing, giving him a shiatsu massage? This is why reform can’t stop at just the police. It has to be judicial as well.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that maybe, just maybe, the 200 pound man smothering the life out him for nearly 10 minutes might be a primary cause of death.
This is - or at least - should be common knowledge. It’s been proven out in business only about a zillion times.
This is yet another prong that needs to be rectified in the judicial system. Tying wrongful conviction compensation amounts to the forthright and honest prosecution efforts only seems right. Other management level jobs tie your bonus to your performance and if you can’t perform due diligence in criminal cases such…
Agreed that the tools exist, it’s the will to use them to punish these folks is what doesn’t exist at the moment.
Rep. James M. Hinds (AR-2) would like a word with her; not so much about the fact that he was assassinated by a klansman (identified but never so much as arrested) 4 months into his freshman year (1868), but rather about the importance of civil rights and suffrage. https://history.house.gov/People/Detail/15065?ret=True
This bullshit won’t stop until there are meaningful consequences for the prosecutors who engage in this behaviour. Immediate disbarment should be step 1.
“as I have been the most attacked freshman member of Congress in history”
Whenever a pale, pencil-necked politician like Cotton makes one of these twisted comments that are so obviously untrue, my brain immediately launches into a daisy chain of inquiries and logical conclusions. In this case, it goes something like this:
If a person is actively overdosing and seconds from death but I push them in front of a train, I killed them. Just like even if a person “did too many drugs” and I put them on the ground, then put my knee on their neck in a way that cuts off oxygen to the brain for over 9 minutes, I killed them.
Slightly off-topic, but this:
Guess what Cotton-head? (fucking sentient swab) If we jail all of the insurrectionists...murderous cops...white terrorists...wealthy scofflaws...perverted politicians...I guess we won’t have an under-incarceration problem anymore.
This motherfucker’s name is literally Tom Cotton like he stepped out of a 70s Slavery Blacksploitation film. America has no chill
Your giving to much credit to the GOP on that. People in general don't do a lot of thinking for themselves if they don't have to. It's as true today as it was when the country was founded.
This is no real surprise. The people who listen to political leaders, don’t do a lot of thinking for themselves. Recent polls show that the rank and file of Republicans still have doubts about what happened on 1/6:
This is what makes Trumpism work. This is the dark heart of our political moment. Even people who are tremendously vulnerable themselves, like Crystal Minton, support Trump because of his capacity to inflict pain on others they detest. The cruelty, as the Atlantic’s Adam Serwer says, is the point. [emphasis added] [htt…
Yup. I don’t want anyone to talk to me about pitying Trump voters or reaching across to work with the GOP. They aren’t just dumb anymore, they are willing to cast the entire country down all in the name of maintaining power and a steadfast willingness to blow their foot off if it means that PoC will suffer more.
