I get paid $40 an hour to operate an immense vehicle and someone runs into me randomly and they walk away with a million bucks. I think I should start riding bikes for a living...

As the former owner of a 240z that front end is fucking heinous. There are much cooler body kits that actually reduce the cars natural tendency to want to get airborne at speed. And $16k is stupid, that thing might sell for a quarter of that price if it’s lucky.

Im just saying that is the actual concern here. They are working out netting systems to protect the aircraft as a response. Read a real defense site and enjoy!

They are actually worried that the drones could damage aircraft parked on the flightline. Langley has a lot of F-22's. Scratch the paint on one of those it’s gonna cost a few dimes...

The ads on mobile have made this site completely unreadable. Goodbye Jalopnik, I'm never coming back

A comment above had an excerpt from a news article that said they used a taser but he had zero reaction. Then he ran away and they tried to shoot him for cop reasons.

$2B is pocket change compared to the overall economy and what China has invested. It's almost a negligible amount considering what needs to be done.

Jeff Gordon started out racing karts!

I was heading back home from a mountain biking trip and had a friend in the passenger seat and we were engaged in a riveting discussion about how sweet the trail we just hit was. I had my cruise control set to exactly 55 mph because that was the speed limit. We get some signs indicating a reduction in the speed limit

EV's kind of reset the lightweight calculation. Under 4k seems light compared to the battery sleds. Even Supercars are mostly porky these days.

I mostly see Bandidos patched riders up here. I don't think I've ever seen a Hells Angel or a Mongol but I'm primarily a South Sound area driver.

This guy is living in reality from around when I was born. When I served as Air Crew on a C-17 in the USAF we had many female pilots including my squadron commander and it was always the flight deck not a cockpit. It sounds like this guy hasn't evolved at all in about 40 years...

I remember being a kid and watching Enemy Mine on a late night rabbit ears TV in my bedroom. That was a formative experience that taught me empathy and inclusion and I will forever treasure those things.

This dudes car at least passed my semi going Northbound on I-5 through Centralia WA yesterday. Maybe he's moving south to the country?

This is an excellent Emily Blunt action film!

Old car locks. I could unlock the doors and start my '73 240Z with a screwdriver.

Im going full pedantic but the headline Pic and soy boy tweet about father Theresa dude is actually a Jimmy Kimmel troll bit. It was quite funny watching that guy working the conservative crybabies though!

I have to disagree with your first point. I was aircrew on a C-17 transport aircraft and even with earplugs and a sound canceling headset you can hear the bleed air spooling rotation on a turbine and you definitely can hear when it achieves ignition. You can especially smell it when it kicks off, even on a busy ramp.

Not a car but related...

We aren't alone in the universe. This article is expounding on what is essentially a thought excercise. The Drake equation is not a scientific principle but rather just a concept to try and quantify something that we have no power to do so. I can't prove it but I'll eat my shoe if no other intelligent extraterrestrial
