Truck driver and instructor here. My company trains to avoid swerves if at all possible because a rollover is usually much worse than hitting another vehicle in general. In this situation the driver did attempt a minor swerve but there may have been traffic to their right.

Well the tires are very different, 100 +- 4psi is the correct inflation setting for all the tires but we also don’t get fancy water evacuating tread patterns. Truck tires rely on weight to displace water volume. You have to be very careful running empty vs fully loaded when there is a lot of water on the road.

On commercial vehicles it’s 4/32" for steer tires and 2/32" for everything else. I'm a truck driver instructor and I have always thought that was wildly low.
