He was in college when he ran for mayor of his hometown. A lot of these college students were likely in his high school social circle long before any elections took place. I mean ‘politician dating college students’ sounds a lot less predatory when the politician is also a 22 year old college student, right?

Plus, there are so many different kind of masks. They don’t have to wear a gag-like mask. If this one kind of mask doesn’t work for them there are about a hundred others they can try and at least one of those will definitely work for whatever accommodation it is they need.
