SxS in the woods are just as bad haha.

No lie. Execs are a terrifying combination of fearless and clueless.

How much will the rebates be at launch timing? Cause $1500 cheaper than the Honda ain’t gonna cut it, even considering that the Ody is due for a refresh.

That shifter looks so dumb in this concept. Bit too much carry over mall crawler there.

The quality of “components” I straight up disagree with. The switchgear and trim are IMO near if not best in class. The wheel covers are cheap but are limited to the bottom of the barrel LX model which is cheap enough to get away with it. The mechanical AC comment is strange since it doesn’t perform demonstrably worse

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then.

That's an opinion a person could have. Not many people have had that opinion, myself included, but it's ok that you do.

Which Civic did you check out the interior of? 2015? 2016 is a legit nice interior in any class.

You could honestly say that for the 9th gen, I had one and it was a rolling shrug. The 10th gen is a legit class leader though.

Your numbers are incorrect. Base 2010 Civic was not in the 13s and did not include AC or power options.

They do drive them, it’s just hard to pass up on a several dollar cost savings over millions of lifetime units. They replaced several buttons and the associated wiring and connectors plus the assembly time for all that with an existing touchscreen. Somebody got a promotion for this, and until customers scream loud

Really? You lose your keys that often?I’ll gladly pay the extra $100 stupid tax for losing my keys in exchange for never having to dig them out of my pocket.

So what is the right answer then? Please tell me which $25kish volume model sedan actually is the one true Jalopnik choice.

The pictures are misleading IMO. It's not a small car but it's not as big as it looks in the photos.

The opening looks small and it is compared to a true hatch, but compared to its competitors the trunk opening is significantly larger.

For an enthusiast maybe but for your average shopper you’re adding LED headlights, a ton of safety tech, heated leather, and several MPG. The volume choice would be the EX-L Sensing at $24,7 which gets you most of the tech but is missing a couple of the luxury features.

Same experience I had.

Gotta remember that these are journalists driving what is effectively a rental to them. With that in mind 22 is hugely impressive.

I was shocked when my 12MY Civic had me take its factory oil out to 11,000 miles of angry driving. That's the great part about a company lease car though, you don't have to worry about longevity.

What bike are you carrying this on? What's your normal ride look like? Do you usually end up using this?
