If you want to freak people out, go to goth night as a normie. Goths know, the normies who show up are almsot always the biggest freaks.

Hah! I was about to say, Goethe is A+ but I bet she meant Nietzsche or God forbid Proust.
Senior year of HS. The guy was a great English teacher otherwise, but apparently had some very sketchy ideas. We were required to write an essay about it for the Ayn Rand contest, which is a thing.
I have a very specific type: “guys that are a lot like your retired dad, but who are actually younger and also they are scientists.”
This covers a lot of it:
I would add, these first few weeks before school starts (or gets busy) is a great time to fill your freezer with pre-made lunches. Frozen PB&J, chili, pulled bbq chicken or other shredded meats to put on their carbs, soups, etc. And doing it now makes it possible to have the kids help with the making.
Yes. Damon I could take or leave, but Dickie Greenleaf, as played by Law, was just the greatest/the worst. That movie was an amazing moment for him.
You overestimate their base.
Virginia became a Democratic trifecta state (gov + state house + state senate) in 2018. That’s what makes this all possible.
I was thinking of my punk-rock drummer bestie when I wrote that. He’d probably agree with you.
Solidarity. I watched my husband go through some of these things (not muscular distrophy but extreme bone loss due to side effects from drugs he needs to breath). It took five years for him to admit that he needed me to lift things. It took that itme to stop pretending he could be in places that had smells. It was…
If I’m going to watch a white dude musician wankfest, that’s def. going to be Velvet Goldmine. VG captures so much about the 70s. Almost Famous was The Wonder Years: the Remix.
MJ Cole is the sound of 2000 for me, no question. “Sincere” was my jam!
I’m a straight up Lindsay Weir... was the nerd girl who becomes goth (I was about 10 years later than the show).. my goth friends all thought I was square and my nerd friends thought I was too cool for them ... including the army jacket, dating a Nick but finding it subpar, all of it.
Totally. Franco was very very pretty. Though we had one of him in my HS, a stoner guy who was very pretty in an angel of the damned kind of way. Not quite as movie star handsome though, which is why I acknowledge Franco as the biggest outlier.
Yeah, I was of two minds about that.
I hear you, but having grown up in that area slightly later than the show was set, I think overall the attractiveness of the cast was only slightly inflated. Franco’s the obvious outlier, but I can think of people in my HS who basically looked like everyone else in the cast, at least in terms of how conventionally…
SAME.
Holy christ, I did some research on women blues singers in the Classic age, and that stuff is RAUNCHY. I felt like a babe in the woods listening to that stuff.
