Instead of this, they just need to tax high frequency trading, and they’ll get everything they need. This is a tax designed to make the middle class feel like the Feds are ‘going after those rich tax dodgers’, but it doesn’t use the right tool to do that job. Capital gains taxes should be higher, and match income tax

My girlfriend’s Equinox doesn’t let you turn off the stop-start feature and it’s incredibly frustrating

Paying tax on money you haven’t received is a horrible idea and if you think they wont use this as an excuse to raid the middle class you are clueless.

Auto Start/Stop

Please. No thank you. I cannot get used to the car stalling out every time you stop at a red light. It’s too unsettling.

THIS x 100000000000000! I’ve never loathed a new feature more in my entire life, and you’ll never convince me that it doesn’t lead to accelerated wear and tear on the starter motor or the engine itself based on how people stomp the accelerator as soon as the light turns green.

Auto stop/start. From what I can tell it really doesn’t impact overall fuel economy that much and just makes for jerky starts at stoplights and stop and go traffic. It’s an automatic motion for me now to turn it off when I start the car.

Digital instrument panels are by far the most overrated new car feature. I prefer mechanical gauges, for one. Second, the litany of digital gauge reconfigurations that many new cars offer their driver add nothing to the drive.

I just don’t get this guy’s attitude. I wonder if he goes on articles reporting about sex work and complains about promoting illegal activity. Or maybe he goes onto articles about Amazon’s union busting and complains that Gizmodo is promoting violations of fair labor practices.

“likely to be shut down for supporting piracy”

Pointing out that emulation exists and that Nintendo’s crummy service likely won’t win over the people who have already been emulating these games for years =/= “promoting piracy.”

Oh no, Kotaku isn’t volunteering to be the Nintendo Copyright Police! This surely means the end for the site.

No.  When you choose to suspend the game, you are immediately booted from it.  As soon as you load back in, the suspend point is deleted.  You are not creating hard saves that you can come back to time and time again.  Sure there are ways around this, but as far as I know, not without the help of 3rd party software

Like I said, I’m not talking about the implementation, just the concept. The devs were acting as though saving was totally incompatible with Returnal's design, when games have been using quick/temporary saves for decades.

That, just like the main brand and Velveeta, is a Kraft product.

Now, was that so hard? 😋 Now if only Deathloop will follow suit

I’ll stand up for generic(ish) cereals, because I always liked President’s Choice raisin bran over the actual Raisin Bran. PC raisin brand had more and slightly bigger and softer raisins, and comes in a larger box and usually cheaper than the name brand stuff.

Quick, someone try “FreeHongKong” and see what happens.

I actually hope Olivia and John made it work, and then add a third named Newton.

As QSR Magazine explains, back in the 1980s when the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder was the burger to beat, A&W had the great idea to debut a 1/3 Pound Burger at the same price as a Quarter Pounder. More meat for your dollar—what could go wrong? Unfortunately, the burger was a total flop, for reasons that A&W didn’t
