If you tried to spin that in a positive way about this port it’s literally one of the only good things I’ve ever heard anyone say about this terrible port. Clean? I’d stick with they look more “Simplified and Ugly” They know how to do a remaster of a game and not make it look like garbage:

For cleaner characters they should have done what they did with I, II and IV remakes on the PSP, now that is cleaner and nice looking. This is a pretty shitty attempt tht loks like some cheap RPG maker indie game.

Cleaner? They look like someone bought some crappy RPG Maker assets. These are horrible remodels of classic characters that look too bright and have none of the charm of the originals. If you want to point out any “journalism bias” here, don’t use a shitty example. Maybe the edges are smoother and the colours blended,…

The character look might have been acceptable if they’d changed the backgrounds and scenery to match that style. As it is it looks like an RPG Maker hack job.

Those characters are disgusting looking.

Having clean characters and inconsistent backgrounds creates a way more jarring effect than it would if they had kept everything pixelated yet consistent.
