Of course there is. When you die, the game immediately autosaves/erases the prior save. But if the game is interrupted for some reason other than death, the load is available. How is that complicated?

So if you’re allowed to do that without ruining the difficulty, why wouldn’t a system that allows the system to be turned off or switched to another game?

I guess maybe because the runs are longer on Returnal?

Yes but the 2, 3, etc. will always be accurate (well...unless they pull an “Xbox One” or Battlefront 2 later), while “New” becomes an ever-increasing lie.

All the latter-day AC games are too damn long for me to try to get back into the series. I liked the old 15-20 hour affairs.

Stories of Stromblood’s mediocrity are exaggerated, imo. The Ala Mhigan desert areas are uninteresting, true, but that’s really my only complaint with it.
