I don’t expect to pick one up until FFXVI or VIIR Part 2, whichever comes first. But I only just got a Switch last month, so that should scratch any “new console” itch for awhile.

Yeah...in the old days, RPGs definitely did seem like a wildly better deal because action games were charging $50 for something you could finish in an afternoon. Or that was really short but ludicrously hard so it would just TAKE you a long time to get through very little content.

I think what’s causing the confusion here is that you seem to be using the word “flop” to denote quality, when it actually just refers to something losing money. 

As a bit in a comedy movie or something, it’s pretty funny. I feel like the joke would wear thin quickly though.

Turning the series into a level/gear-based RPG was such a huge mistake, in my opinion. And RPGs are my favorite game genre!

I think he seems curmudgeonly based on other, normal interviews he’s done. Not because of people annoying him while he takes out the trash. Amusingly, this was more pleasant than he usually is in normal interviews.
