I seem to recall Buick’s popularity in China was why it didn’t get the axe when Oldsmobile did, despite around me the popularity seeming like the opposite at the time.

In a vacuum, I’d love to put a modern engine in an old muscle car so that I don’t have to worry about adding lead and managing the carburetor and all that. And I’m sure people have done so, too. But I know it’s also kind of blasphemous to do such a thing.

As a baseball fan, I fully understand hockey’s position as being more exciting. But football fans making that claim baffle me for the reasons you listed. 

Vivi’s story doesn’t really resolve (and in fact just gets more confusing because apparently there are a bunch of Vivis now???) that just left a sour taste in my mouth.

I disagree that it’s overrated, merely overplayed. There’s a difference.

Even if he said all the right things, WB isn’t gonna scuttle the game they’ve already dumped the money into developing, and his level of correctness wouldn’t affect anyone’s intention to boycott the game. So I’m not sure exactly what we expected to gain here.
