I never really got why there seems to be a consensus that UoW is top-tier Culture. I liked it, but I found it fairly forgettable. If you ever feel like trying again with the series I'd recommend Look to Windward. Most of the others are either terrific but impenetrable to new readers, or kind of just not very good.
