This show is full of people with weird-shaped mouths.

They're moving it around too much, it becomes obvious that it's a guy in a rubber suit with an immovable facial expression. It was creepy when it was just a shadow in the background.

I suspect it was a deliberate ambiguity that we will find out the meaning of in the next few episodes.
