If we're going funniest, I'd probably say Homie the Clown. It's not the best, but it's the funniest. King-Size Homer I would rank as one of the unqualified best they ever did.

My memory is fuzzy on this, but I think the captions are usually taken from the final draft of the script or something, and the show was often re-written pretty much up to hours before they had to hand in the final edit. So the captions sometimes contain jokes that were subsequently re-written.

Ian Maxtone-Graham seems to have a co-writing credit in season 24. Not sure if that counts.
