In the US, the term Asian-American would generally imply someone from east or southeast Asia. Otherwise, we’d go with South Asian or Middle Eastern. I had a very odd conversation with a Brit once where both of us were using the term Asian without realizing the different applications in different countries.

Because... you know... they’re both brown. </s>

It could be an act of humanity towards the victims who would have to testify and be scrutinized.

That’s why he looks familiar despite my never having watched True Blood. Thank you!

Did they have you on a taper or just cut you off entirely? I used to run a drug court program and never heard anything dramatic from clients about tapering off benzos and they were usually quick to tell me that kind of thing.

Yes! I’m glad you made it through in one piece.

I went to prom 4 times (not bragging, my school was simply too small to have a prom for any one year) and I got to run the gamut and I loved them all. I still look back on even the trendiest one fondly but wish I could still fit into the one that was pretty classic (a short, red cocktail dress that I got for $12 at a

Yeah, I’d hoped there was some way to make a joke about hating the concept of gender reveal parties but this is just horrific.

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

I have a friend who is very forthright about having gone to Yale (graduated over a decade ago) to the extent that it has become a bit of an in-joke among other friends (who include other Yale graduates). She doesn’t believe in wedding rings but still wears her Yale class ring.

My friends in countries with guaranteed parental leave largely were able to break into good jobs because taking on someone for 6 months is seen as less risky by employers. My friends were able to establish a work

For the same reason people assault people they know. Because the drivers aren’t really full people and the assaulter wants to demonstrate power over them.

Sadly, there’s a reason why there are so few female cab drivers. Those who are tend to be the tough-as-nails, hair-trigger anger type.

Dude, if you didn’t say stupid shit like this all the time, people would have fewer nasty things to say to scare you away from Twitter. Having a second rate football club is not enough to hang any sort of grittiness on.

Well, then he shouldn’t have bought a BMW. Problem solved. :-D

From what I understand, Caan got paid as a lead while being contracted to not be in all of the episodes (I think it was 4 fewer per season) because he preferred to be in LA. As much as I think I’d prefer Hawaii to LA, I’d be pissed if I was getting paid less than someone who was showing up for fewer episodes.

So beautiful. I’d watch Daniel Dae Kim read the phone book.

But the previous point wasn’t about being a reboot. It was saying that certain characters are further up within a police hierarchy and therefore more important.

So? Martin Sheen was POTUS on West Wing but still wasn’t a lead.
