Yeah, can’t have a bad actor muddying up the waters on the CW.

I’m lucky because, here in Portland, Sinemia is covered by a large chunk of theaters (including arthouse). Once the Moviepass well has finally run dry, that’s probably where I’m heading.

If/When Moviepass fails, I really hope someone else attempts to replace it in a different way than its current rivals. I’ve discovered that some sort of theater-going subscription service is something I’m willing to pay for, but the others aren’t doing it for me. I don’t want to be locked into AMC, and I’m really not

I feel like we live in the same area as those both played at MY local art house theatre that i used the majority of my movie pass at.  Would throw some of my savings at the concessions stand too when I normally never would so it's a win win.

The way MoviePass works is that the company pays theaters full price for tickets, and then it charges the consumers a flat subscription fee that doesn’t come close to covering the amount of movies that one is permitted to see with a MoviePass.”

Netflix has been around a very, very long time and it has a very different business model. MoviePass should cost more and have a limit on the number of movies you could see from the start. But they didn’t and I thank them for that. I’m not an investor and I won’t be hurt by their failure.

MoviePass was unsustainable but I got a ton of value out of it. In 10 months I saw nearly 100 movies for $100. I will never, ever see a deal that good again in my life. So the tap dancing glee of articles like this over the demise of another company, even as the AV Club itself is right now starting to circle that same

You leave Garbage out of this!

Counterpoint dude. JJ Abrams basically aped all the story beats of the original and turned in a largely mediocre movie which was only saved by the chemistry of the fresh young leads, Adam Driver as the Anakin Skywalker we deserved, and the surprisingly emotional death of Han Solo.

You’re missing Ionnalee’s “Everyone Afraid To Be Forgotten” which hasn’t gotten nearly enough attention, Ghost’s “Prequelle” which wins a spot on the strength of ‘Danse Macabre’ alone, and Ministry’s “Amerikkant”which is probably the best thing Al Jourgensen has done since the turn of the century.

I’m with you on Neko

“But people looking to spend some time in the Jurassic world—and especially ones looking to bask for a while in the presence of some beautifully detailed virtual dinosaurs—will probably get a kick out of it, even if it fails to offer the vital sense of danger that’s always been the key element in making this

there are children in cages for being the wrong color and you are wringing your hands about dinner reservations.

The wrong opinion on caraway invalidates the entire question. You are layer upon layer of wrong, built upon a core of wrongness.

And don’t even get them started on dropping bombs in space.

Anyone who can see through their sorrow to still matter-of-factly taze a would-be deserter is aces in my book.

I don’t even concede that her character sucked.

No A$AP Rocky? I got converted by L$D and I love how his new album continues to meld new genres into rap. There’s one that’s set to several ‘90s Moby tracks; awesome.

Hellboy 2 is my favorite del Toro by a landslide, and gun to my head might be my choice for best comic book/superhero adaptation ever. It might not be my FAVORITE, but it does so well at so many of the criteria that a movie should do well at, superhero-based or not.

HB2 is Jurassic Park and Pan’s Labyrinth is Schindler’s List. Schindler’s List and Pan’s Labyrinth will both be remembered as cinematic masterpieces, but I would watch JP or HB2 100 times before either of the other 2 again.

A co-worker recently lent me his extended cut with the exact same argument. You may indeed be my co-worker, in which case, I apologize that I haven’t watched the extended cut yet. It is sitting right next to the TV and I will make it happen eventually.
