But again, the AMC service restricts you to AMC theaters. I’ve yet to see any company that offers as many theater options as MoviePass does. Sinemia is the closest in some cities, I guess, but it gives me exactly one theater in my city. Expand that some and I’ll gladly sign up.

Same. The theater here sells wine in cans. You’d better believe that was my consistent purchase.

I think we all acknowledge it is/was unsustainable. That has nothing to do with what we were talking about.

I would never denigrate the good name of Garbage intentionally!

90 percent of that content is garbage though and completely not worth your time, which is a complaint I hear often. Content in theaters is also constantly updating, so I don’t really see what you mean by that.

I legitimately couldn’t care less if the CEO thinks he is some sort of visionary if it means I could use a service I enjoy.

I think I was also a bit of a unique consumer in that I have no desire to see movies during peak weekends and hours, so the “surge pricing” never really affected me. But not having to throw down $8 to see “Alien” or “Yellow Submarine” or a small indie film I know nothing about on a random Thursday night was fantastic a

There IS a weird zeal to the way people are almost rooting for this company to fail. It’s bizarre. Especially seeing as MoviePass’ competition is just wildly inferior. I’d gladly pay something closer to $30/month to see movies at both the AMC and the local arthouse cinema here, but it looks like even Sinemia only

I just canceled my subscription this afternoon. Both -- yes both -- theaters on the app showed no screenings available whatsoever. Failing some sort of miracle, the writing is on the wall for poor MoviePass. Crossing my fingers my cancellation was hasty and MoviePass can turn it around but...

The whole “let’s take a popular song and MAKE IT SAD” thing is one of my least favorite trailer trends in recent years. Garbage.

Place-specific is tough, especially considering the vast majority do not in fact live in NYC. Though Kate and I live in Missoula, which is ground zero for microbreweries and new taps. Come out west, dear reader!

The asshole doth protest too much, methinks.

Methinks the asshole doth protest too much.

I mean, clearly you’re not really connecting to it, so I’m not sure how effective another viewing would be for you. I just know I really love the film!

Counterpoint: “Call Me by Your Name” is one of the few films that elicits some serious emotional reactions out of me every time I watch it. It’s beautiful, the characters just “feel” real — in my experience at least. It’s like living in a lazy summer. Hammer and Chalamet are masterful.

Yes, the best part about MoviePass is that it not only covers the one AMC Theater here, but also the local small cinema that plays arthouse and non-blockbuster flicks. Paying more with the AMC pass to go to one fewer theater and limited selection sucks, frankly. I realize MoviePass is destined to fail, but damn, I

This reminds me of the time I watched it while on ketamine. Terrifying. Don’t.

Rihanna is the closest thing we have to a Loki trickster goddess, so do whatever you want, Rih-Rih

I know this site seems to be weirdly disappointed with Lykke Li and Lily Allen’s latest albums, but they’re definitely in my top 10 so far.

I’m actually having a lot of fun with this, but I am also a big JP fan.
