He looks like a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy someday.

Yea, its a bad mural and the artist is not great at art.
First of all, it looks nothing like him and looks more like if Gene Wilder had prison tattoos. Second of all, why is he worried about his “brand”? He’s 62 fucking years old and not even in the public eye anymore.
Looks more like Spicoli
I think the tats are the least of this mural's problems.
Ian Holloway issues a public complaint that people didn’t listen to what he actually said about VAR by demanding that they carefully review the video of what he said about VAR.
What the hell is the context of this painting? Why was the woman still wearing her fancy hat if she was going to get into a scrap? Why does the man look like he’s been fighting an ocelot or practicing emo pre-teen self help? What’s the money line and can I take the under?
“I’m not that stupid,” Holloway told the Daily Mirror.
“What I’m saying is, as an English person, I’m sick and fed up of being told what we’ve got to do. Our country is fantastic. If you let us make our own rules up, do what we want to do, we’ll be in control of it a lot better.”
It drives me nuts that the 76ers are held as definitive proof that the process works. They are one more Joel Embiid knee injury away from it being an unmitigated disaster. They had all these high draft picks that have either underachieved (for christ sakes, Simmons can’t shoot a jumper) or they’ve whiffed entirely on…
Saw that article this morning, had the same reaction. Didn’t even bother to read.
What’s wrong with being addicted to Supergirl and Wonder Woman, huh?
Process freaks always seem to forget that the first part of winning a championship includes...wait for it...making the damn playoffs!
Yeah, it’s not the same in football. Stars are available later in the draft. One player (other than QB) isn’t the sole difference maker on a team. The NBA is just different. Franchise changing, title winning #1 players in the NBA are only available at the top of the draft, and even then, not every year. You sell out…
Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there buddy! Nobody’s suggesting actual on-field results should matter at all in sports. That would be insane!
Fundamentally, sure, the chance of hitting on a star in the draft is the surest way to building a good team quickly, and you have a better chance at doing that with a high draft pick and multiple selections. But to completely disregard any other form of team building, or to insinuate that attempting to build a team…
Many things grate me about The Ringer sometimes, but their insistence that teams smash the TANK button the second they’re not a bonafide title contender is extremely dumb.
forget the future, they haven’t been a Modell franchise since 1996
I think “Weekend at Bernie’s” is probably exaggerating it a little. Even referring to him as Mr. Magoo would probably be excessive.
