I felt embarrassed for that big Chewbacca looking oaf. If this is pro e-sports, its pathetic.

I guess this is what constitutes as people’s “heroes” now?  I don’t think I get the fighting game community.  That’s probably what it is, and that has to be fine.

It is why I generally don’t do PvP in any game anymore.  The levels of immaturity, and the system that continues to perpetuate it is something I’ve completely outgrown.

Yeah, this has been my take for a very long time. What is the issue with just not being an a-hole? Why do so many people jump up to defend being an ass? I mean, yeah, it’s many times your right to be an a-hole... but then you’re an a-hole. There’s no right to not be criticized or ostracized or identified as such when

That might be what the fighting game community calls it, but not the rest of the world. I’ve understood “popping off” to mean an angry verbal altercation... and I’ve understood that for over 20 years now.

I am acquainted with a guy who has run a marathon in all 50 states.  When you hit that level of marathon running, everyone you meet is then required to tell the story through the transitive property.  That’s why I’m here.

Except that the GIF for the article is literally the dude getting in the other dude’s face:

So I appreciate the Kotaku is questioning these situations, but it doesn’t help your case when immediately following the article there are “recommended” examples of Kotaku openly glorifying these “pop offs”. Like maybe we stop celebrating these?

“Deadesq” is the shared account of every 2005-2012 Deadspin commenter.

if the Persians had taken Marathon this seriously they would’ve won

They’re taking every chance they get to single out Valve for industry-wide practices. That 70/30 cut? Pretty much the standard. Sony, Microsoft, Apple and Google all have the same split, yet it’s Valve the only one they go after, and they don’t even bother to mention that they do, in fact, lower the cut to 20% for

I started off disliking the accused cheater, but I think I like this devoted running sleuth with “esq” in his username even less.

In all fairness, most 70 year olds can’t DRIVE 26 miles without stopping to take a piss.

“I choose not to run”

For the love of... Could we please stop saying Developers and say Publisher? We all know that it’s only indies that’s ever going to see the revenue share change, while developers of bigger games (unless they are the publishers too) wont see a bloody dime of this 18 percent point cut

I seriously belive that the people who are angry at EGS in general represent but a small portion of gamers, possibly even a miniscule portion.

Being inconvenienced is one thing. But these people kickstarted the whole thing with their money and were promised one specific thing and getting another.

I get being upset at being inconvenienced. But in the grand scheme of things, having to download another launcher isn't a big deal unless said launcher doesn't work with your computer somehow. It's not like you have to actually buy something like a new console or something to play it.

I seriously believe that the people who are angry represent but a small portion of the backers.

I have a new take on this whole “let’s defend Steam by at least threatening to boycott games we’ll eventually play anyway”.
