Ah, touche.
Ah, touche.
There needs to be sakura petals floating by.
Shouldn't it be Shepard-chan, in this case?
I'm the kind of guy who stays completely quiet when playing multiplayer, maybe tensing up here and there during tense moments, but yeah, I'm almost completely no-drama. I get killed, I shrug it off and try to do better on respawn.
Yup, first thing on my mind when I read the headline too.
I'd really love to see a retrospective on the Weird 90s. I'm very nostalgic about that era, mainly because of how disappointing the 2000s were to me for a variety of reasons.
I find it interesting that there's a trend back to artsy-fartsyness, at least in indie gaming. But yeah, it's become an industry like any other. Something like Call of Duty is closer to a Hollywood film, while something like Journey is closer to the spirit of the Weird 90s.
Oddly enough, I find the Halo series to be one of the more disappointing FPSs I've played. I really like the mythos and storyline, but I can't get over the bland aesthetics and bland, floaty gameplay. Of course, that's my humble view. And to be honest, they really did improve the aesthetics of the past few releases.…
Agreed, there are times when I really miss the artsy-fartsy weird-as-fuck pc games of the 90s. In fact, that's one of the big things i remember about the 90s, how weird and creative it was. Of course, that was from my perspective, and I was between 5 and 15 during the 90s, and I was a detail-oriented kid who had a bit…
I think the 2nd movie ends when Bilbo goes into the Lonely Mountain and wakes up Smaug. Would make for a good cliffhanger. Either that or when Smaug is killed by Bard. The third film will probably be about the events that lead to the Battle of the Five Armies. If I remember correctly, the Siege of the the Lonely…
Yup, having reread the first third of the book before watching the movie, it actually matches the pace and tone of the novel really well, if you fill in the blanks of the summarized scenes with the cinematic weight that they need in visual form. That and I'm excited about the Dol Guldur stuff because of where it's…
If I could watch a 24-hour long movie set in Middle Earth, I would.
I agree, actually. Having read the first third of the book prior to watching the movie, the movie matches the pacing of the book incredibly well. Tolkien summarized much of the events in the book, which is ok for the book and why it's so short, but wouldn't work well on screen, so certain scenes needed fleshing out.…
Unfinished Tales and LotR Appendices mostly, and yes, I agree. I'm very happy with finally seeing the Dol Guldur stuff.
It's an easy mistake to make, but I'm sure he meant Unfinished Tales and the LotR Appendices, along with various notes and stuff, where the Dol Guldur stuff comes from.
Sorry, I just based it off of the highest rez version I could find from the official website. if I could make it in high-rez, I would, but if I tried to blow this up, it'll be all pixelated. If I do find a super-high rez version, I'll edit it and make it available somewhere online :)
My guess is that the animation department has no say in how these movies are done. All these CG-critter kids movies have the fingerprints of accountants and bean-counters all over them. They probably have checklists about what kind of, and how many jokes are allowed based on a survey done 15 years ago.
Here's to hoping they don't ever decide to give this treatment to Animaniacs or Pinky and the Brain. Here's what goes on in the brain of Hollywood kids movie producers: "Witty Satire? Blah. Humor that appeals to both kids and adults, sometimes going right over the heads of the kids? Never! Let's have Wakko get kicked…
SquareEnix really needs to make Sazh and Fang's Excellent Adventure. That has a complete different kind of gameplay that is not FF-esque at all. No emo-ness. Just high-adventure and character development. That would definitely redeem SE's image to the rest of the world.
I agree, there's only so much economic value on Earth without wrecking the planet and making it uninhabitable. Even then, there's an end point. Only logical solution...spread out from the planet.
