In Michigan, the left lane is not always strictly for passing slower cars, but for managing traffic volume. In rush hour, everybody’s moving slowly, and any forward travel lane is fair game.

I never understood why its so hard for people to understand that simple rule. When I drive on the express way if I want to do the speed limit I get all the way over to the right lane. That way there are three open lanes for all those people who want to drive like a maniac if they want to.
