As someone who has gone to the first two years of this festival this pisses me off. By having them on the same weekend you are already thinning out your field of prospective bands. And I could see bands wanting to play LA a lot more then Philly but we'll see.

I'm the same age and the movie awards were always 2nd rate compared to the VMAs. I remember always tuning in though because they used to have really good (or so my nostalgia remembers) movie parodies to start the show.

Regardless of how much is prewritten it definitely feels off the cuff a lot of the time which I really like about it. Its quality definitely depends on the guests though. When the whole panel know each other well and have chemistry it can be really great.

Wow that's an awesome concert but definitely a huge contrast.

To make myself even more bitter I looked at the setlists they were doing on that tour and they were great. Like all the songs I would have wanted to hear.
