I realized after discovering a picture of my fiance’s ex(THE ex, the one true love) that I look EXACTLY like her. He can’t see it, but I certainly do, as to others I’ve spoken to that knew her(some of his friends). It’s a bit weird, but there’s a reason he’s marrying me and not her, and I look at it like that instead

Everyone will shit on you, but I 100% agree. If you can, do it. Homeschooling has such a stupid/horrible stigma due to the whackos on the right doing it, we NEED level-headed well-educated kids on the other side.

*over here crying at my 21h drive just to get two states over*

I just can’t believe how many people seem to lack simple human decency and empathy when it comes to rape culture. Like, what? How??? I know why in my head but it doesn’t stop it from hurting my heart.

AGAIN. This is my personal experience in schools where THE ENTIRE POPULATION is POC. I know all the statistics and I’m VERY well aware that schools essentially feed young black and hispanic men and boys into the justice system for minor crimes. But at the schools I’ve seen first hand? The girls get it worse. Period.

I’m listing, in my experience working with at-risk kids in schools, what happens. I’m not nessisarily replying to the article, but to a comment on it. See?

Amen. I volunteer with an organization that has a cadet program(Civil Air Patrol holla!) and there are very strict rules about senior members and cadets, and even cadets over 18 and those under 18.

Because the enlightened and reasonable stuff is an act. It’s an attempt to be cool. They don’t honestly care about people as whole, just perhaps the one or two women in their lives, and others are just objects, which comes out on these types of posts.

I know it intellectually but I still sometimes have fantasies about becoming a rapist-killing vigilante.

Yeah, I know, I’m just kind of venting. But I do agree with you.

Yup. People are quick to make it a race issue, which is BS, because it’s not. It’s a money and power issue.

Yes, well, this is Deadspin, the men’s blog. Victim-blaming and misogyny come as no surprise here, or on Gizmodo. MRA is in full force, but I kind of know how to deal with it as I sometimes visit Reddit.

The link between schools and juvie is really scary. I’ve heard cases of cops being called because girls wouldn’t submit to dress code. Girls fuck up once or twice in school and they go to JJAEP, while boys who fuck up are “being boys” and sent to the alternative school.

I live in Texas and I’m not surprised as there’s a different culture for “problem” girls. The standards are impossibly high and there’s a lot of backwards thinking that girls should behave a certain way, and when they’re frequently traumatized and they don’t behave that way the punishment is far greater than for boys.

In my experience working with at-risk kids, this is ABSOLUTELY true. Young girls are EXTREMELY at risk for trauma and abuse, and also at risk for being sent to jail because of that trauma. It’s sickening.

Yeah, like, okay, I get it, it’s a he-said-she-said, but when there are several shes you’d think they’d count more than one he, right? NOPE. It’s like we live in the middle east or somethere where you need five men as witnesses to verify a woman was raped.

And also he was abusing boys, not girls, which instantly makes it take priority on the world stage.

Horrifyingly, yes.

Also Cosby. Like, I know in my head WHY but it just seems so incomprehensible that there’s not a single person in the know who feels a glimmer of humanity and empathy for his victims and sees him as the monster he is. Like sometimes I want to just go undercover and get close to these dirtbags just so I can flip on

True. It’s just so sickening to think of what these monsters get away with.
