Hey, they were mentioned on the Simpsons once too, IIRC.

Great write up—apart from watching the Pats win, this column is my favorite thing about football season. Edelman's catch is my new favorite gif, replacing Butler's pick from XLIX.

"If the Patriots win on Sunday, I will feast on the nation’s sorrow until my bowels are swollen with the anguish of a Patriot-hating NFL fan base. I will imbibe the furrowed brows of frustrated ESPN analysts, I will devour the country’s bitter tweets, and I will cruise through the hometown message boards to sample

I always thought it just referred to the looming threat of war, which was created by Palpatine in order to install himself as Chancellor (then Emperor) as well as build up an army of clones to crush any resistance.

It always seems to me that the Pats are a little rusty after a week off. Sometimes they can shake the rust off in the first half, like they did against Houston, sometimes not. I think they'll come out strong this week and win against the Steelers.

I'm assuming you're referring to Brady with that first one. In way, you're right. He's been entitled 4 times and is on his way to a fifth.

"Brady, a popular mattress salesman, "

I don't think I could take it if the Pats lost another Super Bowl to Eli frickin' Manning. I hope Green Bay takes the Giants out just so we don't have to hear about the previous 2 losses.

I'm not a real big gamer, but Diablo has always hit the exact sweet spot of being not too hard to get into but still requiring some skill and strategy to really master. I've been a fan since the original, and I'm still playing DIII for a little bit almost every night (usually less than an hour at a time while my wife

I'm definitely going to forget that the Pats play on Saturday this week. But they've already won the division, and the Jets are pretty terrible this year, so there's really nothing to worry about.

I haven't, but I understand the feeling. They've ruined our dreams 2 too many times.

He didn't mention it by that name. Just talked about the Giants reporting that the Steelers' footballs might have been under-inflated, and Goodell blowing it off.

I think he's referring to Teti's breakdown of "Deflategate II."

Fun fact: If the Patriots win against Denver this weekend, there will be no team in the NFL with a winning record against a Belichick-led Patriots team.

I've almost gone through all of the revived Doctor Who series this year (just a few episodes of Season 9 left—in fact I'll probably finish it before New Years). I hadn't seen any Doctor Who before this, and I'm really enjoying it. My plan is to go back and track down the classic series once I get through all of the

OK, I'll admit this was mildly amusing. I did like the dramatic pause after Sisko's "THAT'S ENOUGH!"

So many good songs on this list. I've never really had a hard time separating a song from the artist's personal baggage, so if I was to add a song, it'd probably be something like "Hotel California," which is a song that it's so cool to hate now. I don't know if people would react to it the same way now, that they

I don't usually complain about GJIs, but my local radio DJs were talking about this exact article like 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It's possible that line was referencing one of Justin Hammer's failed attempts at re-creating the Iron Man suit, as seen in Iron Man 2, rather than War Machine's injury in Civil War. Thinking about it that way, I think, clears up at least a little of the continuity errors.
