Agree. And it honestly sounds like perhaps the record label wanted LM to go with Cardi (who’s having a moment on the charts), but the girls wanted Nicki. From the texts in their insta it actually sounds as if they were threatening if Nicki didn’t want to do it they would scrap the entire song (who knows if they would

One of MBS’ goons who was in Turkey the day of the murder and who was named as one of the 15 suspects “mysteriously” died in a car accident recently... Putin would be proud.

My first thought when and how this broke was that she is being considered for VP in 2020. Trump already has the religious vote locked up with or without Pence. She could help give him better numbers on the women side (ugh). And it’s not like he needs Pence’s help in the mid-west either.

I bet this is pretty much the scenario that will occur in November. Hence the “little time off” comment.

I actually think the timing of this is super important because of the very fact that Bredesen did have a major fuck up moment last week with Kavanaugh. She explicitly states in her post that, given the current climate, a person doesn’t need to accept or identify 100% with a candidate to still support that candidate.

Ugh. I’m so depressed. I hope to God things change in November. Being in this position gives me such a new sense of respect for those who fought for decades for the women’s right to vote, civil rights, and gay marriage, etc.

I hope more people will vote in local elections for this reason. It looks like the Dems finally understand they need a candidate in every race and I hope that continues.

She’s a fucking liar herself. She only said that so she could have cover to pass the tax bill. Notice she hasn’t brought up McConnell’s betrayal either... I don’t know how the hell she was convinced to vote in favor of keeping the ACA, but that was an anomaly, clearly.

I think that’s why Manchin hasn’t said which way he’s voting. Keeping McConnell in the dark makes it harder for McConnell to whip the vote.

I have no interest in seeing this movie in theaters. I was pretty disappointed in the ending from the last one... because of Depp. I remember I went with my sister to a showing in NYC and the entire theater just let out a disgruntled sigh. So I’m in no rush this time and will wait for A) reviews and B) streaming.

That’s a salient point. But I worry that Collins is digging in her heels. She seems to hate that her constituents are barraging her office with calls about this. She wants to confirm Kavanaugh and is looking for any reason to support her Yes vote.

I think it will depend on the vote breakdown. If it looks like the Kavanaugh nom will not get enough votes on the Republican side then I would bet the Dems in red states will also vote no. If it’s the opposite and Republicans have the votes, even if they eek through, I bet most or all will vote yes.

At least, to me, I can’t imagine Russia able to target all the house rep seats and the senate seats. I wonder, given McCaskill having been targeted, if Putin is scheming to assist in certain senate races (the senate is the one that votes to convict during impeach proceedings). It would be more advantageous to Russia

Another way to think about it. Trump reached his ceiling on supporters. He’s not gaining any new supporters. But he hasn’t reached the basement. He can still lose support. And he’s definitely losing support. Especially, among women.

UPDATE: Per NBC Manafort has agreed to give up his Trump Tower apartment in lieu of one of his bank accounts, which means the government now owns an apartment in Trump Tower. Methinks that might make a really nice new FBI field office...

And there’s only so many people who were “above” Manafort that would justify such a cooperation deal. If I were Jr and Jared right now I’d be freaking the F out. Trump still has the power of his presidency at his disposal, but he should also be freaking out (though slightly less if Kavanaugh gets rammed through next

Bingo. Actually, I think it’s all three of them. Neither would have gone rogue like this without Pence’s permission. They did it together. That also makes it more difficult to ascertain who actually wrote it if it’s multiple people involved.

Agree. Though Vox had a really great write up about the entire thing, very nuanced. The problem is also our toxic cultural environment. The Trump admin has degraded our societal trust in decency and morality that a woman potentially flashing this sign during a supreme court hearing is as plausible as it is ridiculous.

It is a 4Chan sign intended for exactly that purpose.

Technically, the circle game means placing the gesture below your waist so if she was playing it she was playing it wrong. It’s of course possible that she was doing this. It’s also just as possible that it was meant more pejoratively.
