I would watch a movie where Denzel Washington played a brooding, troubled pharaoh.

The movie kind of obfuscates how many kings there were after Isildur, and how long the gap with no kings was. There were a bunch of kings after Isildur, then they died out, then there was a long gap, then Aragorn showed up.

I'm pretty sure Dan Ackroyd doesn't fit in his anymore.

That word is "Trekkie."

Yeah, it seemed to imply that Star Trek IV would be a gripping courtroom drama where Kirk would answer for his many crimes.

I think yours is better.

They aren't referring to Temple of Doom, they're referring to the follow up to Temple of Doom, through the clumsy use of stock footage..

Yes. I liked the 2009 reboot. There are ways to reboot a property that are good—like the 2009 Star Trek—and there are shitty ways. Into Darkness was lazy and sloppy, with the worst screenplay of any Star Trek movie.

STV was a failure of execution, but at least it was trying something. It wasn't lazily pantomiming Star Trek II. Sure, it was terrible, but it deserves some points for trying.

If Ridley Scott directed it it wouldn't come out until 2036, on the tenth anniversary of the release of Bladerunner 2: Run Harder.

Man, I'd like to see a Star Trek movie made by Neill Blomkamp.

To be honest, the order of the list in my head changes all the time, with the exception of Wrath of Khan staying number one.

Forbidden Planet is basically the Star Trek pilot.

I'm sure William Shatner learned a lot from Star Trek V. Let him direct.

If I had a merciless killing robot from the future, I would have it hunt down and kill everyone who tweeted "Needs more cowbell" during Peter Pan.

Shit! I did. Yeah, Galaxy Quest & Master and Commander should be on there.

That seems pretty reasonable, though I think I would suggest starting with season 1 of the original series.

I feel better about it not being a total trainwreck now.

For me, best to worst is
TOS
DS9
TNG
VOY
Enterprise
