There were Interdictors in Jedi. There was an article—maybe in Cinefex?—on modelmaking for Jedi, and that was one of the models. Anyway, there were ships in ROTJ that the viewer didn't really get a good look at. The Interdictor was one of them.

The whole hide-the-kids plan does seem kind of stupid. Of course, Vader appears to get progressively dumber. He kidnaps Leia a couple of times, and yet he never notices that she's not only Force-sensitive, but that she's a super-powered Skywalker like her twin brother.
