Agreed. Now I just need to convince my wife of the same. She’s up for a new car in a couple of years and this is the segment she’ll likely end up in.

I’m gonna say it and I don’t care if anyone agrees with me. This is the best looking compact crossover on the market inside and out. Now if only I can convince my wife that this is the car for her.

My dad had a 2002 mini (not an S) that he took to over 300k miles with only regular maintenance. the automatic transmission finally did go but I was really impressed with that car.

Shouldn’t your argument as to why inline 4's are more common than V 4's also apply to inline 6's verses V 6's? My point is I want more inline 6's!

This thing is going to use a flywheel for its KERS. I didn’t think anyone was doing that anymore because of all the danger and such. I thought modern KERS just stored energy using batteries or capacitors.

A guy around the corner from me has an M badge on his hybrid X5

The last two years this has been the case. I don’t know what happened this year.

Didn’t Formula E used to have a race at the Long Beach Grand Prix track? Does that no longer happen?

Alright guys, I just looked up what used Panameras go for and if this depreciates at the same rate as the sedan this could be possible. Seeing as this will be a niche vehicle that is a very big if though.

They’re probably going to have to lift it 1.5" and give it a lot of plastic cladding before they can bring it to the US.

The want is strong. I can only hope that it comes to the US and depreciates to the degree that I can afford a used one 5 years later. I’d say my chances aren’t looking good.

I live right around the corner from a (the?) Karma Automotive facility and see several of these a day. After hearing about the reliability issues I’m always amused to see them running under their own power.

Watching that clip has got me thinking that we were better off when F1 cars used an actual lever to change gears.

This was going to be my answer too but a different one I saw driving on PCH in Orange County. After I saw it I did some research and I am reasonably sure it was this one featured on NPoCP. Yours seems like a much more unusual location to see one though.

I think you’re on the right track here. only I would word it as the A5 is the coupe version of the A4 and the A5 sportback is coupe version of the A4 Avant.

I think a likely cause of only one light being oxidized is that the car was in a minor fender bender that resulted in one headlight being damaged and needing to be replaced but not the other. The cheap owner would rather have one oxidized light rather than pay for two new ones.

also am I crazy or is the crack always to the right of the ford emblem?

Yes! every single explorer of this generation has this.

I’ve noticed this on every first generation XB as well.

This exact same scenario happened to me. I turned on my blinker to change into the left lane in order to pass a slow moving truck pulling a camper trailer. As soon as I turn on my blinker the car a ways back in the lane to the left of me obviously increases their speed to try and keep me from merging in front of them.
