I had similar requirements when shopping for a new car in collage. I ended up with a manual Subaru Baja. My only regret is selling it years later.

The one in the Baja was just a small hatch in the rear bulkhead that wasn’t even as wide as the distance between the wheel wells and the back glass was fixed in place. You could use it for a surfboard or skis but it was not nearly as versatile as the situation on the Avalanche.

I want one so bad but my wife won’t let me because it’s anold man’s car”

Is Toyota doing anything to differentiate TRD from GR in the U.S.? If they are I can’t tell reasoning behind which set of letters each model gets attached to its name.

Red and green for port and starboard on these boats!

If they’re really serious about trying to dissuade people from leaving them on they should make the right and left ones different colors, although that obviously wouldn’t work for the challengers with a single protector like the above picture.

Seen at separate times but both on the street in Irvine, CA I’ve seen a current generation Volkswagen Transporter (on California plates somehow) and a current generation Suzuki Jimny.

My wife and I are in escrow on our first house now. I’m 28, she’s 24. We were living in Orange County, California and for a while were looking at buying a condo or townhouse because it’s all we could afford (still like $500k to $600k). It would have been tight but with our combined salaries and around 5% down we

I thought this was a decent idea but apparently the NFL has a rule that doesn’t allow any field color other than green. The rule is known as “The Boise Rule”.

I wonder if there are any limousine package town cars out there that were never converted and are just driving around as normal wheelbase cars.

WTF are “house shoes”? Do you mean slippers? I have a pair of wonderful Minnetonka sheepskin moccasins that fulfill the duties I think you are getting at but never have I referrd to them as house shoes.

I had the same thought

I had an 850 turbo wagon at the time when they built the red V70 and I wanted it so bad.

When I saw the lead image I thought it was a joke. I’m still not convinced it’s not.

So my story comes from when I was in high school as I’m sure most people’s stories of catching air in a car do. My car at the time was a ‘94 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon and I drove that think like an idiot. I loved that I cold break traction in my front wheel drive station wagon and did it way too often. One of my friend’s

Yeah the outback it is based on is a vastly more practical vehicle.

An outback is vastly more practical too.

As the current owner of a 4th gen I completely agree that pre-facelift 2nd gen is peak Forester but I was over the endless small compromises that come from having a 10+ year old car as a daily.

I guess the World Car of the Year testing could explain why I saw a new Jimny on the road in Southern California a few weeks back. I was a little surprised to see it but I figured it must have driven up from Mexico which is the explanation for most of the non-US market cars seen on the road down here.
