Trick question: Kinja itself is unnecessary.
Trick question: Kinja itself is unnecessary.
How is a slideshow necessary for this?
Raphael Orlove: “Non-EVs should be banned now.”
Nice to know writers’ voices carry no water in GawkerWorld.
Its consumer reports though. Literally identical cars other than badge will have vastly different reports.
+1! I was interested in seeing pics of this best-in-class interior until I opened the article and it was a slideshow.
I’ve been here for over a decade.
Then you should know better?
It’s definitely why they hired commenters as writers, they’re so over the moon to work here that they don’t complain about how fucking horrible this place has become since the craven assholes took over.
Disagree. Volvo, BMW, Audi, Mercedes ALL have much better interiors. Lexus aint great, but at least they have reliability and comfort. A Mazda CX5 interior is better than this crap.
For 4 series I see 2 blacks, 2 whites, 2 shades of gray and blue, orange and green.
There are also costs associated with being a yellow car beyond just what it takes to paint it yellow. It will most likely spend more time sitting on the lot.
As someone that works in manufacturing (not cars) color change overs are not free. Someone has to clean the guns between each color, someone has to load the proper paint, quality samples have to be done...
Anyone who buys a new car every 3 years doesn’t actually give a damn about the environment.
What I don’t get is why Tom would pose this actually interesting question without writing an email and cc’ing maybe 2 manufacturers and those auto engineer consultant guys jalopnik always gets contributions from.
Paint costs: it takes a buyer and seller to determine a price. If someone’s willing to pay $400 extra for a color, a manufacturer just might take it. Even if it only costs the manufacturer $50.
Yup. Jalopnik is paradoxically a car enthusiast site for people who hate cars. If the community at The Drive didn’t suck so badly there would be an exodus. But it really does suck that badly.
