Yep. I don’t think many black elders will ever believe he is guilty. My mother dotes on “The Cosby Show” because it’s the kind of idealized black family she always wanted to see on TV. No matter what proofs stack up against Cosby (or how I keep pointing out that rape is the rapist’s fault) she regularly victim-blames.

Ehehehehe. A friend observed that he’s been sick of “98% Tom Cruise movies” for a while now.

Honestly, this needed someone like Alice Krige in GHOST STORY—someone alluring but disturbingly not-quite-right—an inhuman being’s idea of human female perfection.

God, I have never pre-emptively hated a franchise idea as much as this Dark Universe crap. There. Is. No. Reason. For. Any. Of. These. Reboots. To. Exist.

When period music is essentially the show’s subject, it makes sense to use the original versions. Nothing wrecks suspension of belief faster than soundalike cover versions.

Honest to God, short of a retail cataclysm, I don’t see lousy executives ever suffering consequences—or losing out to truly talented ones. American industry after American industry goes on the ropes and keeps getting trashed, but the goalposts keep getting lowered for these guys. All that counts is the company stock

Heh. “Halloween Party” and “Endless Night” were tough calls, as well.

Aggggghhhh. You fiend, you. ;)

And the “Baywatch Nights” novelizations are where, exactly? ;)

...and it got cancelled.

Hee. Funny how these kinds of shows’ software always goes straight from concept to perfectly-working--no beta versions (or lives destroyed by mistakes) for them.

It might be me, but I have major issues with shows like “Wisdom Of the Crowd” (and its doomed predecessor APB) acting like privacy is a concept that doesn’t exist; that one is an old-fashioned fool if you think it does still exist—and it is utterly unimportant in the face of high-tech crime-stopping. And don’t even

Agreed--talk about a missed opportunity.

Given there’s a good chance they will be written to appeal to Trump voters and be majorly black-or-white-thinking--agreed.

The band would have to be some of Gaiman’s American Gods in disguise in order to stay the course. :)

“Everyone is afraid of something, pe’tit.”--Anna Seton, DRAGONWYCK. And never more when their sense of security seems threatened. Ailes’ evil genius was in recognizing that this country is still rooted in dog-eat-dog and certain-people-always-on-top--and playing on people’s fears of losing what they have. And for some

I so hoped Obama would have the chance to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Reagan killing that launched all of this shit.

I fear you, transitory. :)

She was his third wife, technically speaking. Bleh. I wonder how much one could make opening a rehab center for conservative women who are conditioned to want these guys?

Hee. The devil is always in the details, no? ;)
