#4 is the one that astounds me the most. How can the model be winning a massive share of the subscription base AND raising prices AND needing to show subscription count growth year-over-year?? There’s no way to survive long-term if stagnation in user growth counts as a loss.
And it had worked better for Netflix too. I’m certainly glad that we got Stranger Things, etc., but Netflix is hip-deep in finding out that spending tons of money to be a content creator while on a subscription model is harder and harder to sustain.
Both ends of this suffer from trying to cover both ends, and sure,…
4 factors that i don’t think any of these streaming services get - that all play together:
Yeah, they stretched out the base way too much. They have created a situation where people are forced to go back to paying as much if not more than they paid for cable.
This was all to fend off “activist investor”/corporate raider Nelson Peltz, who was demanding a seat on the Disney board to “unlock value.”
I wonder if the content-makers are slowly realizing that they had a good thing going before, renting out their properties to Netflix for free money, and they blew it by trying to cut open the golden goose.
Or downgraded to “special presentations”.
Sounds like a bunch of Marvel shows will not be getting second seasons.
What, no Captain Carrot or his Amazing Zoo Crew? Sheesh
We’re going the Authority route, which suits me just fine.
Hard to argue with that.
Is it selfish to really, really want Conner Kent and Kong Kenan alongside Kara? I’m a Superfamily guy and think those two would pop onscreen.
Yes. Every bit of this, but especially the weird stuff. I want it all.
THANK YOU. Never got the appeal, even as a little kid. Whenever it was on, I would just be wishing it were Merrie Melodies or Underdog.
Bill Hader - Plastic Man
I’d still really like to see Ted Kord in live action.
captured by Batman and essentially groomed is also an apt description of Robin
How about Spectre? I loved that old DC character usually in Adventure Weird Comics. Of course it was split with Aquaman and DC just assumes people are on online comics for that. Spectre is on the cover but if you buy it all you get is Aquaman. Don’t get me wrong I love Aquaman but don’t tease Spectre on cover and…
As much as I would love to see a good live-action adaptation of New Gods, I really hope DC’s film team doesn’t go near those characters again until they have proven they can consistently tell stories that actually understand what makes these characters interesting. I do not want to see another take on Darkseid as a…
