Remember when Wonder Woman 1984 had a whole sequence set in Egypt, and it looked so much like Fake Hollywood Egypt that actual Egyptian people (including the director of Moon Knight) complained? Makes sense that they would decide to just sidestep all that.

The Rock , in an Egyptian setting playing a good guy who eventually becomes a monstrous villain.

Birds of Prey (not the plot but Harley Quinn’s character herself) and Peace Maker are figuring out what the DC world can look like, so I feel they are going in the right direction. Hopefully this can keep the momentum going in exploring the grey area, while still doing it with some heart.

I mean, yeah... we thankfully didn’t have to deal with a bunch of guys in clown face carrying tiki torches and chanting ‘why so serious?’, but it wasn’t much longer until we were dealing with the January 6th Insurrection. I can’t and won’t fault this movie for the actions of those people, but I can at least…

I remember it sort of the other way around. That it was generally judged to be pretty okay until a bunch of incels decided to miss the point of it.

FWIW, the incels and the MRAs have made this movie their totem and saviour against “woke media”. They might not be rioting, but if they do, it will be while quoting Joker lines.

Remember when there was a lot of Very Serious Discourse about how Joker was going to be a horrifically incendiary movie that would inspire a legion of psychopathic incels to go on mayhem sprees, and then it turned out to be a pretty okay flick and nothing happened?

It can’t be as bad as Fallen Kingdom...or can it?
