I’m not sure that an engineer is the right person to get to a beautiful interior, usually that’s the realm of designers. In my experience it’s designers that have to fight with bean counters and engineers to get what they want, bean counters usually win.

The only time peel-off (un-tinted latex) is used is if the the paint will need to be removed for future work. Otherwise you can prime/paint right over the clay.

Aero was the number one driver, I don’t remember the numbers for certain, but I think it was close to 2 mpg lost at 75 mph for the C6 corvette. It was a HUGE deal dropping the flip ups on the Vette.

Well said, and rarely commented on. I work at the GM Tech center, it covers over a square mile, has roughly 40 buildings and 20,000 resident employees yet doesn’t directly produce any vehicles or components that reach the customer.
