I would just shorten this to, "Rape? YOLO!"
I would just shorten this to, "Rape? YOLO!"
A hipster novelist at that. Someone who can sell their novels both in Barnes & Nobles and at comic book shops.
The advice against walking home alone or (doing anything) alone ISN'T good advice for preventing rape though. You are much more likely to be raped by the man walking you home than by some stranger waiting out in the dark. And as for parties... every woman I have ever known who was raped at a party was raped by her…
The, "My strength is not for hurting" line is gross though. It reminds me of (and I honestly don't remember who this was) a woman who was quoted on this site as saying that she was able to prevent her own gang-rape by appealing to one of the potential rapists to be the good guy (the good man) and help her. Men who…
I love how all this good advice also comes with a scary threat too. "Rape stays with you for life." You know, in case there are any women out there who aren't sufficiently afraid and don't already organize every detail of their lives around not getting raped.
In many states in the US rape is defined as penetration and sometime penetration using a penis. So only under very unique circumstances would you charge a woman with raping a man in those states. Not that it would be impossible. But it's not about the gender in those states, it's about penetration/the members used.
"Regretful sex" is my new favorite thing ever. "I wasn't raped. I was regretfully sexed." "He's not a rapist. He's a regretful sexer." Lolz.
Good. "Daddy Warbucks" is a wildly dated name for the character. It implies all sorts of unpleasant things. War profiteering. Sugar Daddies.
I think you're right to use the phrase "gas-lighting" here. Kanye may be an ass in real life. I don't know. But what he's communicating is exactly what people try to communicate here on Jezebel or on Gawker all the time. Only his language is a little more original and a little less predictable. But people behave,…
You called it. I'm sorry I don't have an awesome gif to say that. But yeah... you called it. This is not just any racism. This is strait up Nor Cal racism.
This discussion has come up before on Jezebel.
What are people saying about your shoes?
There's no question whether the medical establishment needs to be supreme ruler here. Only the reality that they are.
"I actually have zero problem with anonymous donation."
No. I don't think that people who want to donate an organ after doing their research are fanatics. But I think that people who want to donate an organ and have studied up on organ donation specifically to pass screenings often are.
You're right.
Do you know when Spanish people are given the option to decline to donate? Is it when they register to vote?
I agree with you. This is why voluntary live-donation should only be permitted if the donor is donating to or for family (the exchange counts because its for family) or if the donation is anonymous (i.e. you don't know who you're donating to). Allowing individuals to pick and choose who they want to save is cruel.…
Wow. You feel strongly about voluntary live organ donation, don't you?
Thank you for the up to day information. As I said in one of my latter posts, my impression of how common it is for potential volunteers to be turned away and for anonymous live donation to take place is a bit dated.
