Because they're children. Not political agents. (The same way they're not sexual agents.)

Sorry. I totally get defensive about Honey Boo Boo.

Dude. I'm not dissing children. I'm just not politicizing their suffering.

Yeah. Radical feminism pretty much is a movement confined to the 60s and 70s.

Oh. Ok. But what I said was that I don't expect Harvard to hand out awards to radical feminists.

It just amazes me that people can't see how exploitative it is to talk about bravery (as you are still doing) in children. And yes. That includes adolescents. Because people do not mature cognitively in this respect until, on average, their early to mid twenties. I'm not making this up. You get this drilled into if

Drew Faust is not a radical feminist. Do you know what "radical feminist" means?

I don't know where you got that I was concerned with suffering on any level. I know I didn't say that other women have suffered more.

You know what? I'm sick of people talking about how brave this girl is. It is sick to talk about the bravery of a CHILD. Children aren't brave. Not in that way. Not in a war zone.

Redacted post dismissal.

I see what YOU'RE saying and I totally don't expect Harvard to hand this award to some scary, grown-up radical feminist or anything like that. Yes, anyone they pick is going to be, in some way, the right kind of woman and is going to share liberal, western ideals. I mean, it's Harvard.

I actually didn't miss what to happened Malala Yousafzai. And neither did any other literate person in the West. That's what makes it so completely redundant that Harvard should give her this award.

Where is this from?

I think I saw a video of the woman studying that guy talking about him a few years ago. I guess that it was a real scientific mystery how they could hit shells with as much force as they could (remember that this is taking place in water). And they were an inspiration to engineers.

Malal Yousafzai is probably an amazing person.

Now I have to take issue with what you say about Honey Boo Boo.

Ahhh. I like men who are the same height as their significant others. Equality in all respects. Also practicality.

Well, I think it's disgusting to wake up to that picture of the rapist's face. Yeah... I know her face is in the picture too. But his face is just so BIG. And rapey. And big.

No. Actually no one is wandering around looking for racist statements. Unless they're conducting a weird survey.

Oh no. I definitely acknowledge that "exotification" can be other things besides racist. Sexist, heterosexist, orientalist... But in this case I'm pretty sure it's just racist. I'm perfectly fine tossing that word out there if you don't want to.
