Lithium batteries are much more strongly affected by factors like temperature, [dis]charge rate, and age than number of charge cycles, or in the case of cars, mileage.

That’s the exact problem that I have with EVs. The batteries are too damn expensive, and there isn’t any aftermarket support to bring that cost down.

“People on automotive enthusiast site have opinions on on car design, sometimes use coarse language.”

“You’re complaining about something and offering solutions in ignorance. Apologies if nobody else wants to drink your Koolaid.“

I’m curious to know how well that rear steering holds alignment. Years later will this car crab down the street sideways?

? So you didn’t have the fortitude to veto an 80y/o’s idea despite it being highly unsanitary and against code?

take one with 1kz engine and it is indestructible machine...right until you roll it while making 30km/h turn

I don’t think so. I never saw dangerous temperatures and the stock temp gauge never even moved. I’m just paranoid.

ugh....the people in the slowlane who go 85 then 55 then 90 then 65 then 55, then 75.

I just stayed at hotels as usual (and they are pretty empty most places). This is a respiratory disease, while in THEORY you can get it by touching something, reality is probably you get it by breathing in what someone else just breathed out. So I have zero fear of hotel rooms. Good thing, I travel for a living -

Right, that’s the anxiety, but the likelihood of breaking down far from home is no greater than breaking down in your home town.

Me breaking down 5 miles from home is annoying, but not much of an issue. Me breaking down 1,000 miles from home, potentially far away from a major city, is a significantly larger headache to deal with.

It amuses me that so many people think nothing of putting 3,000 miles on a vehicle over the course of a few months while driving around town, but freak out at the thought of driving the same distance over a few days. It’s mostly about humans being in unfamiliar territory. It’s not like the vehicle is thinking, “Oh,

Yep, we’ve got our two-week quarantine plan set up. Trying our best to avoid ruffling anybody’s feathers, or spreading any sickness, for sure.

another side note is that API-GL energy conserving standards required 5w-30 oil as the standard because, well, “energy conserving”. My land cruiser specs 5w-30 but was designed for thicker viscosities which are recommended outside the US.

Respect.

We saw 146-degrees (!) air intake temperature at the Del Taco drive-through in Baker, California!”

I mean, this would be a better crawler, but for long hauls no way. Half the fuel economy and nowhere near as comfortable.

Yanno, I’m 100% a wagon guy through and through and would normally agree, but I recently drove an X5M, and holy hell.

There are no reasons to buy an SUV instead of a wagon.
