Da Fuq? I had no idea all of this is going on in a latch. I will try not to swear at the next BMW e46 latch that goes dead.

+1 for a properly sorted out e39. Mine has 160k+ miles but is the ride of choice in our family when only 4 of us are taking the trip.

Our own David Tracy is working on a similar plan for when he opens David’s Home For Mostly Rust Jeeps, where herds of JLs and Willys will be free to run and climb rocks in their own paved-over field.

My dad’s 1968 MB 200D had a very stiff unassisted steering too. parallel parking was a full upper body workout!

Thanks for the reply. I have done a lot of similar stuff on BMWs and while parts are more expensive than their American counterparts, everything was designed to be serviced.

Insanely easy to work on? Cheap parts? What repairs have you done yourself that were insanely easy to do? I am genuinely curious.

100K miles are only the first half of the life. Get ready for a potential death by a thousand cuts!

Da Fuck? We need a third option: Oh Hell NO!!

Zing!
