I respectfully disagree. I am less worried than you for the following reasons:

CHIP is funded, WH is out of the picture, and Feb 8 deadline is all about DACA. It’s not as grim as people are making it out to be.

After giving it some thought earlier when it looked like they were going to cave, I agree with this take. They’re, politically, in a much better position if it comes to another shutdown in 3 weeks and they will still have the same leverage as they did today.
