The notion that one must “see” combat first hand to have PTSD is a serious misconception and is big reasons many of us veterans struggle to get the benefits we earn.

For what it’s worth, right now this only applies to hotels on the monorail. Animal Kingdom is not. If you can afford it, Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the cooler places I’ve ever stayed. The rooms are nice, but the grounds and proximity to the Animal Kingdom animal reserve are amazing.

It’s not weird. You are paying for residency in the room. It is your home for the time you are there and you should get your privacy. You don’t have to justify that.

Yeah when I rent a hotel room I consider it my place until I check-out. And I clean it my damn self as I would my own. I mean how much of a mess can you make in a day while you are presumably on vacation?

Yeah, not a chance I would either. I keep the Do Not Disturb sign on the door from the moment I check in until the moment I leave. I love how trends just force prior knowledge out the window for some people. I realize not everyone had my upbringing, but I learned early on (mostly through camping with my folks) that you don’t drink directly from a natural water source unless absolutely necessary.
