Disappointed that it’s bad, but at least we have the (superior, completely unrelated) book! I reccomend the YA novel Across the Universe by Beth Revis to anyone intrigued by the base premise. AtU is REALLY similar (coincidentally--screenplay & book were written independently around the same time; book got pubbed way

I don’t think OP was saying that authors aren’t the best people to promote their work, but more that nowadays, unless you are a leading title author (ie: hot, mega best-seller or breakout), publishers contribute ZERO money to marketing efforts. You have to do all your own book promo *and* bear the brunt of the costs.

Woo! Pretty proud to work for NBCU and see women with real power, influence and respect do great things. The head of Universal Television Studios is a South Asian woman—Bela Bajaria—who is the driving force behind The Mindy Project, Master of None, Brooklyn 99 and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt—she likes to greenlit women,

They already revsersed their decision (like, before this was posted; perhaps it isn’t public yet?). I’m friends with one of the parents and she posted the school’s email to Facebook. From the email, it sounds like one big concern was logistics (when to host it, where, crowd control) and they are happily taking the 10K

The current season episodes will go up on Hulu Plus 2-3 weeks after they air on cable. :)

I think it's a perfectly fine soundtrack. I was pleasantly surprised by Streep—I think she must have been working with a vocal coach since Mamma Mia. She so far surpassed my expectations, I'd say she's one of my favorites on the album. Anna Kendrick is the most polished, which makes sense since she has the most

The site has been around since circa 2009. It's totally real. Unfortunately.

Yeah, they seem to have completely changed Bianca's character. She's snarky, bitter and has a massive chip on her shoulder—I loved her! Wesley is terrible to her and there's no "make me over!" plot, more like "I'm horny and would like to use you for sex, even if you called me the DUFF, you jerkface" and then they

Totally agree! The Girl You Lost to Cocaine is one of my favorites of hers, and she just doesn't make them like that anymore. :(

Get the We Are Born album immediately, if you have not already. It's the BEST.

While I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this movie... holy moly the entire album is auto-tuned! Big ole NOPE from me. That said, I like all the new arrangements and new songs, especially for "Think I'm Gonna Like It Here." Little Girls doesn't bother me that much because they changed it enough that it's no longer

Not interested unless it's a CW show done Reign style. Just think of the pretty dresses.

You're missing the hottest/most amazing track drop of the week! Marina & the Diamonds Froot. I've been listening to it on repeat since Monday. Big ole YES. link!

I've never dated this sort of person (I unfortunately keep ending up with the opposite—the emotionally distant/dysfunctional manchild who can't handle feelings at all!), but I've had friends like this. And I had to put distance between us and make them more like acquaintances because I just couldn't take it. They

One variation of TOO MANY FEELINGS I can think of are what I call emotional vampires. They are needy and have this constant, life-sucking need to tell you ALL THEIR FEELINGS and expect/need you to react to said feelings/empathize with them about ALL THE THINGS and if you can't give them your emotional attention at all

Once you get to the "twist," yes, there is absolutely believable motivation. It may not be motivation that makes sense to 99% of people, but logically it jibes perfectly with what Flynn sets up.

If you got him into pirates, what about watching the Tinkerbell Pirate Fairy movie? It's pretty cute, and the main storyline is about a female fairy who feels like an outcast and goes off to become a pirate (and Tom Hiddleston is the main pirate and guhhhhhh). It's on Netflix, if the family has a subscription.

There is no DC accent (she says, completely certain!). It's American standard Mid-Atlantic... or should be. I was born and raised and I have no accent. My friends don't have accents. However, apparently researchers are making a case for a dialect: http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/styl….

YES, this. Fellow West-Coaster who works in the entertainment industry and I was super annoyed to not be able to watch the show. I caught the highlights via Twitter on my bus ride home, but just like with Sharknado and the Sound of Music Live, reading all the live tweets ruined the experience for me (half the fun of

Exactly! Lifetime!Zach has a very creepy vibe. MPG was pure class.
