To be fair, if they’re going to copy Dark Souls they’re going the right way about it by getting Team Ninja in in it as the Nioh series is a worthy rival in that regard.
Honestly could have made a HD remake/remaster of Burning Rangers and that would do it for me.
I'm glad I got a PS5 for the reasons listed below, and also by the time a top tier PS5 release is out I may have finally mastered the quick/long press function of the PS button against my motor memory of the PS4 controller.
To be fair, the "Escape" theme from RE2 is an absolute banger. The Remake, not so much.
2, 3, 4, 5 all end with some form of Industrial/Laboratory/both themed endzone complete with self destruct timer.
I consider Resident Evil games to be structured like the Crystal Maze in which you have four very different themed zones, but sadly every Resi game has to end with the boring Industrial Zone every time.
I mean, rehashing the original trilogy (and CD) was kind of the intended theme of Mania.
Oddly enough I’m sure this is how both big early set piece area struggles in both RE4 and 5 go - waves of enemies, run around and run away from the one with the Insta-kill weapon until the hidden timed event kicks in.
