I’ve always had a gut feel that these ramps were ridiculously too long. I also assumed some engineer figured out how long it needs to be and added some margin while minimizing cost. This video shows that physics can’t be beat and that ramp was engineered to the appropriate length. I’m glad that truck driver kept a cool…

Lived in Denver for 6 years and instantly recognized this ramp. I never saw it used, but every time I drove by, thought “Man, if someone needs that thing, it is serious”. This hero driver saved lives.
